Radiant Energy
Systems Marks 20-Year Milestone With New Corporate Image
Radiant Energy Systems, Inc. is celebrating its 20th
Anniversary and new worldwide growth, by adopting a dramatic new corporate
image that reflects its wide-ranging capabilities in industrial process
heating applications. The company's new look is embodied in a smartly
designed logotype that will serve as a distinctive identifier on all the
company's printed and electronic communications, promotional materials,
stationery and signage.
Since its founding in 1985,
Radiant Energy Systems has emerged as a leader in the design and
manufacture of high quality heaters, ovens and dryers based on electric
and gas-fired infrared, and hot air convection technologies. The company
serves an extremely varied range of industries that require efficient,
reliable heating systems for thermal bonding, drying, curing, annealing,
coating, and other critical applications.

ELECTRIC IR OVEN
One of the industries highly used ovens is for annealing
and we at Radiant Energy are the
experts. This Electric Infrared Oven is used to anneal blow molded
5-gallon water bottles. This oven has a flat belt conveyor with three zones and complete controls.
The oven is enclosed on the sides and top with double wall
aluminized sheet metal panels. All panels are removable for easy access to
the interior for inspection and maintenance.
The conveyor is a woven wire belt conveyor. The
"flat-belt" is made up of .092 diameter stainless steel wire.
Open mesh belt allows most of the energy from the bottom heaters to go
through. The speed of the conveyor is adjustable from 1 foot per minute,
up to 5 feet per minute.

Radiant Rounds Heaters and Controls
Each of these heaters has thirty Radiant Round Cylindrical Heaters.
In addition to the heat
being applied circumferentially, there is heat in
the roof of these heaters to heat the glass
tubes from sides and top.
The heaters are housed in a sheet metal housing and wired
together
with high temperature wire. Mounting studs are provided in the back
for
customer mounting onto a suitable frame.
The system has a total of 30 Radiant Rounds.

Ink Jet Dryer
Adding to our inventory of Infrared Pre-heaters and
infrared-air heaters, is our latest Ink Jet Dryer. In this application,
one heater is used to pre-heat the vinyl to 150 degrees F prior to
printing and the second heater is used to dry the ink. Heater one has one
fan mounted in the back to provide air for cooling during any
unanticipated line stoppage. This heater pre-heats the vinyl.
Heater two has three fans mounted in the back to provide
air for helping in the drying process. The fans are wired together and
leads are provided for connection to the control panel. Fans have a
variable speed drive to adjust the air volume.
The SF electric infrared heater is incorporated in these
units. It is a rapid response, medium wave-length heater. Because there is
no quartz or other material between the emitter and the product being
heated, this heater is more efficient and will cost much less to operate
than most other heaters.

Hot Air Annealing Oven for Polycarbonate Bottles
This electrically heated hot air oven for annealing blow
molded 5-gallon polycarbonate bottles has an oven heated
length of 15 feet. The oven consists of a supply plenum below the bottles
with heated air going up from the nozzles, heating the bottles as it rises
to the return plenum.
A recirculation plenum is located above the conveyor to
pick up the cooled air, bring it over the electric heater and into the
suction side of the recirculation blower.
The "flat-belt" conveyor is stainless
steel wire with an open mesh to allow the energy from the bottom heaters
to flow freely.

Drying & Curing Solvent Based Coatings
This infrared and hot Air Combination Oven is used to dry
and cure solvent based coatings as well as coatings
on various materials. It has a vertical Pin Tenter frame to carry the
material through the oven and a complete control panel with PLC. The
unique combination of infrared and air improves the drying efficiency by
breaking the boundary layer and removing vapor from the heater area. The
dryer consist of two 10' L zones and a convection connected load of 108 kw;
IR72kw.

Curing Sensitive Powder Coated
Parts
Introducing a unique, all
electric
Air and Infrared Batch Oven
for curing powder coated parts. The oven consists of infrared
heaters mounted in an enclosure with a separate re-circulating heated
air system.
Three individually controlled vertical zones, allow the user
to run top, center and bottom heater banks at different power levels
to ensure uniform curing of parts. The upper and lower heater banks
are manually adjustable to closely profile the contour of parts being
cured. Heater Power levels are controlled by thermocouple feedback to
SCRs located in the control panel.
The re-circulated air, combined with
infrared heaters, makes curing the parts gentler and improves
uniformity. The control panel is mounted on the oven and pre-wired,
minimizing the time and work required in the field.

| Vertical QF Tower Oven for Drying/Curing
Radiant Energy Systems has designed a Drying and Curing Oven which
incorporates the high efficiency medium wavelength infrared type QF
heaters. This is a rugged, industrial heater that has a high radiant efficiency
rating of 85% due to the high emissivity coating on the face and very low
back side losses. The radiant efficiency of this heater remains high
forever, unlike heaters which use a reflector behind the emitter.
The QF heater is a panel heater which delivers radiant heat across the
full area of its face. The medium wavelength energy generated by this
heater is readily absorbed by water and most products, thus allowing very
high drying efficiencies. Hot air is re-circulated to enhance the drying
and save energy.
The combination of infrared and air improves the
drying efficiency further by breaking the boundary layer and removing the
vapor from the heater area. Multiple zone controls offer versatility for
running various coatings.

Infrared Air Heater System Dry Coating
This Infrared Air Heater System was designed to dry coatings on
Microporus Membrane Film. The SFA, medium
wavelength electric infrared heater has rapid heat up and cool down
capabilities. Heated air enhances the drying process and has independent
controls.
This combination results in a dryer that dries the coating
efficiently, yet gently. Optical pyrometer reads and controls the
temperature of the film exiting the heater system. |

Conveyorized Infrared Indexing Oven for
Curing Adhesive Coating on Automotive Parts
A self contained oven for curing adhesive coatings on automotive parts.
A tray containing the parts is placed on the loading side of the conveyor.
The pnuematically operated doors open and the tray moves into the oven.
Sensors inside the oven locate the tray, stop the conveyor and close the
doors. Upon completion of the cure cycle, the doors open, the tray moves
out of the oven and a fresh tray is moved in.
Designed with utmost safety in mind, the system offers shorter cycle
times with efficient, rapid response heaters. |
